Domestica Repairs

These Terms, Conditions, and Cancellation Policy apply to all appliance repair, diagnostic, installation, and maintenance services provided by Domestica Repairs (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By booking an appointment or using our services, the customer agrees to the following terms.
- Quotations and Estimates
1.1 All quotations and estimates are based on the information provided at the time of booking.
1.2 Estimates provided prior to inspection are provisional only and may change after diagnosis of the appliance.
1.3 If additional faults are discovered during repair, we will seek customer approval before carrying out further work or charging additional costs.
- Call-Out and Diagnostic Charges
2.1 A call-out or diagnostic fee will apply whether or not the repair proceeds.
2.2 The diagnostic fee covers travel, inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis only unless otherwise stated.
2.3 Diagnostic and call-out fees are non-refundable once the engineer has attended the property.
- Repairs and Replacement Parts
3.1 Repairs will only be carried out following customer authorisation.
3.2 Replacement parts will be:
- New
- Manufacturer-approved compatible parts
3.3 We will make reasonable efforts to source parts promptly but cannot guarantee availability or delivery times from suppliers.
3.4 Completion times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
3.5 Any parts removed during repair remain the property of the Customer unless otherwise requested before completion of the work.
- Payment Terms
4.1 Payment is due immediately upon first visit of the repair unless agreed otherwise in writing.
4.2 We reserve the right to request full payment in advance for special-order parts.
4.3 Accepted payment methods may include:
- Cash
- Debit card
- Credit card
4.4 Late payments may result in additional charges or interest as permitted under UK law.
- Warranty and Guarantee
5.1 Repairs carried out by the Company are guaranteed for 6 months from the repair date unless otherwise stated.
5.2 The warranty applies only to:
- The specific fault repaired
- Parts supplied and fitted by us
5.3 The warranty does not cover:
- Accidental damage
- Customer misuse
- Electrical supply issues
- Blockages or limescale
- General wear and tear
- Faults unrelated to the original repair
- Repairs or modifications carried out by third parties
5.4 Warranty claims must be reported promptly and supported by proof of payment.
- Customer Responsibilities
6.1 Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the appliance and working area.
6.2 Customers are responsible for ensuring:
- Appliances are accessible
- Pets are secured
- Children are kept away from the work area
6.3 We reserve the right to refuse or stop work where conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
- Appliance Condition and Repair Limitations
7.1 We may decline repairs where:
- The appliance is unsafe
- Spare parts are unavailable
- The repair is not economically viable
- Previous repair attempts have caused damage
- The appliance has been heavily modified or tampered with
7.2 We cannot guarantee that every appliance can be successfully repaired.
7.3 Some older appliances may suffer additional component failure during testing or disassembly due to age or condition. We are not liable for such failures where reasonable care has been taken.
- Liability
8.1 We shall not be liable for:
- Loss of food or perishables
- Loss of earnings or business interruption
- Laundry damage
- Indirect or consequential losses
- Pre-existing faults or damage
8.2 Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the service provided.
- Cancellation Policy
9.1 Customer Cancellations
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation fee.
9.2 Missed Appointments
If our engineer attends the property and cannot gain access, the appointment will be treated as a missed appointment.
Missed appointments may incur:
- A full call-out fee, or
- A missed appointment charge of £40
9.3 Same-Day Cancellations
Same-day cancellations may be charged at the full diagnostic or call-out rate.
Special-order parts purchased specifically for the customer will be non-refundable.
9.4 Business Cancellations
We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to:
- Illness
- Vehicle breakdown
- Severe weather
- Supplier delays
- Circumstances beyond our control
Where possible, customers will be notified promptly and offered an alternative appointment.
- Deposits and Refunds
10.1 Deposits taken for parts or specialist work may be non-refundable once parts have been ordered.
10.2 Approved refunds will be processed within a reasonable timeframe.
- Data Protection
11.1 Customer information is used solely for:
- Booking appointments
- Invoicing
- Warranty records
- Service communication
11.2 Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and will not be shared unnecessarily with third parties.
- Complaints
12.1 Any complaints should be reported within 7 days of the service visit.
12.2 We aim to investigate and resolve complaints within a reasonable timeframe.
- Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to provide services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather
- Traffic disruption
- Supply shortages
- Power failures
- Illness or emergencies
- Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
